BUELL FITNESS AND AQUATIC CENTRE RULES AND REGULATIONS

100% I.D. CHECK MANDATORY

 

ALL USERS MUST PRESENT A VALID I.D./BCRA CARD BEFORE GAINING ACCESS TO THE BUELL FITNESS AND AQUATIC CENTRE.

 

ANYONE WHO CANNOT PRODUCE AN I.D. CARD WILL BE DENIED ACCESS

 

GENERAL

All users of the facility must wear suitable clothing for the areas they are conducting their activities in.

 

SMOKING POLICY

The Buell Fitness & Aquatic Centre has been designated a non-smoking environment.

PETS AND BICYCLES

Pets and bicycles are not permitted in the facility.

 

LOCKERS

All lockers are for daily use only.  All items left in the facility will be held at the front desk until 1200 hrs the next day.

NOTE:  The Department of National Defence is not responsible for any locks destroyed or contents left in lockers.

 

EQUIPMENT

The only equipment authorized for use in the Buell Fitness & Aquatic Centre is equipment supplied by PSP Fitness and Sports.

 

FOOD AND DRINK POLICY

Food and drinks are not allowed in the Gymnasium, Fieldhouse, Weight Rooms, Cardio Rooms, Aquatic Centre or Squash Court areas.(The only exception to this rule is water in plastic containers.)

BAGS OR PERSONAL ITEMS

Bags or personal items are not permitted in the Gymnasium, Fieldhouse, Weight Rooms, Cardio Rooms, Aquatic Centre or Squash Court areas. You are requested to secure your personal belongings in the lockers located in the Male/Female/Family change room.

CELL PHONES

The use of cell phones and personal digital assistants are prohibited from use in all washrooms and change room facilities.

FAMILY CHANGE ROOM

The Family Change Room is designed to assist families with small children, children who are too young to use a change room on their own.  It is also designed to allow different gender parent/child and handicapped persons to change in private.

Please do not use the Family Change Room if your child is of the same gender as you are.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU REMOVE YOUR PERSONAL ARTICLES FROM CHANGE CUBICLES AND STORE IN A LOCKER AFTER CHANGING.

BECAUSE THE FAMILY CHANGE ROOM /HANDICAPPED IS A CO-ED STYLE CHANGE ROOM THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY:

- When disrobing please use change cubicles provided; and

- Bathing attire must be worn when showering.

 FOOTWEAR POLICY

DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO THE FITNESS EQUIPMENT CAUSED BY DIRTY OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR BEING WORN IN THE FACILITY, IT IS REQUESTED THAT CLEAN, DRY, NON-MARKING ATHLETIC SHOES ARE BROUGHT TO THE FACILITY FOR INDOOR USE. IT IS PREFERRED THAT OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR IS NOT UTILIZED IN THE FACILITY, AS THIS CAUSES INCREASED DOWN TIME FOR THE EQUIPMENT. SHOULD OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR BE WORN IN THE FACILITY, IT MUST BE CLEANED ON THE PROVIDED BOOTBOY CLEANERS AND INSPECTED BY THE COMMISSIONAIRES PRIOR TO ADMISSION TO THE FACILITY. OUTDOOR FOOTWEAR IS CLASSIFIED AS ANY FOOTWEAR YOU WEAR TO THE FACILITY.

 

 

GYMNASIUM AND FIELDHOUSE AGE RESTRICTION

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the gymnasium/fieldhouse floor unless accompanied by a parent or guardian of at least 16 years of age who is responsible for the direct supervision of the child.

WEIGHT NAUTILUS AND CARDIO ROOMS

1. Bags or personal items are not permitted in the Weight, Cardio and Nautilus Room.  You are requested to secure your personal belongings in the lockers located in the Male, Female, and Family Change Room.

2. In the Weight, Cardio, and Nautilus Room decent shirts, running shoes or sweats are allowed.  Skin that comes in contact with benches (upholstered equipment) MUST be covered by either clothing or a towel.

3. All weight equipment must be returned to storage location after completion of workout.

4. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Weight, Cardio and Nautilus Room.

5. Due to the large number of military and non-military users in the Buell Fitness & Aquatic Centre, safety of all participants in activities is paramount.  Therefore, users of the facility are reminded that for their own safety and security, taking young children (infants) into the high traffic areas such as the Weight/Nautilus rooms, aerobics areas is strictly forbidden.

Users are encouraged to use the services of the Borden Family Resource Centre to assist them in their childcare needs.

6. The only footwear authorized for use in the Weight, Nautilus and Cardio Room is clean, dry, non-marking athletic shoes.  Absolutely no outdoor footwear is allowed in these areas.  Outdoor footwear is classified as any footwear you wear to this facility.

7. After using the weight and cardio equipment please wipe off the perspiration.

8. Food and Drinks are not allowed in The Weight, Nautilus and Cardio Rooms.  The only exception to this rule is water in plastic containers.

9. Maximum of 30 minutes on all cardio equipment

SQUASH AND RAQUETBALL COURTS

FOOTWEAR POLICY

Only clean, non-marking athletic shoes are allowed in the squash courts.  Absolutely no outdoor footwear is allowed in this area.  NOTE: Outdoor footwear is classified as any footwear you wear to this facility

AGE RESTRICTION

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Squash or Raquetball courts unless accompanied by a parent or guardian of at least 16 years of age who is responsible for the direct supervision of the child.

PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR

All Military personnel while using the Squash/Racquetball courts, and when playing floor hockey require protective eyewear.  Civilian personnel are strongly encouraged to follow this rule.

LAP, WADING AND OUTDOOR POOL

1. Persons having any skins disease, sores, inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharges, and or communicable disease will not be allowed in the pool.

2. No person shall bring any glass containers into the pool.

3. No articles of food are permitted in the pool area.

4. No person shall pollute the water in the pools in any manner; spitting spouting of water and blowing the nose in the pool or on the deck are prohibited.

5. Blowing the nose to remove water may force infectious matter into the sinuses and inner ear and cause serious consequences.

6. No person shall engage in boisterous behaviour or rough play in or about the pool area, dressing rooms and shower area.

7. Each bather must take a shower with warm water before entering the pool.

8. All bathers who have used the toilet must shower before entering the pool.

9. A parent or guardian of at least 16 years of age who is responsible for the direct supervision of the child must accompany children under 10 years of age.

10. A maximum of 2 children under 6 years of age are permitted in the water for each parent or guardian.

11. Suitable bathing attire must be worn at all times.

12. Children four years and under are required to wear water diapers or rubber/plastic trainer pants that have tight fitting elasticized legs.

HOT TUB

1. Persons having any skins disease, sores, inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharges, and or communicable disease will not be allowed in the Hot Tub.

2. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the Hot Tub.

3. Each bather must take a shower with warm water before entering the Hot Tub.

4. All Bathers who have used the toilet must shower before entering the Hot Tub.

5. The total maximum number of bathers permitted in the Hot Tub at any time is 10.

6. Avoid using the Hot Tub alone.

7. Long exposure to hot water may harm the health of any user.  It is recommended that elderly persons, persons with known health or medical conditions (such as heart problems, diabetes and high blood pressure), small children and pregnant women consult with a physician before using the Hot Tub.

8. Overexposure may cause fainting.  You should cool down periodically, and leave the Hot Tub if nausea or dizziness occurs.

9. Avoid using the Hot Tub if you have taken alcohol or drugs that cause drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure.

10. Cool down after vigorous activity before using the Hot Tub.

11. Enter and Exit slowly.

12. Keep breakable objects out of the area.

13. Long hair may become trapped in the Hot Tub drains.

14. Avoid submersion of head under water while using the Hot Tub.

15. Maximum time limit in Hot Tub is 15 minutes.6

SAUNA BATH RULES

1. The maximum number of persons in the Sauna at any time is 12.

2. Do not place any combustible material over the Sauna heater.

3. Use only clean tap water on the stones.

4. Do not exceed 30 minutes in the Sauna at one time, as excessive exposure can be harmful to health.

 

WARNING

- Elderly persons, pregnant women, or those suffering from hear disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or not in good health should not use the Sauna unless directed by a physician.  Also, sauna bathing should be avoided while intoxicated.

- Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Sauna, unless accompanied by a parent, or by a guardian of at least 16 years of age who is responsible for the direct supervision of the child.

- Consumption of food or drink in the Sauna is prohibited.

- For hygiene reasons, it is recommended when sitting in the Sauna, you sit on a towel.

CFB BORDEN ANDY ANDERSON ARENA RULES & REGULATIONS

TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR FACILITY PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN AND FREE FROM VANDALISM

1. Do not leave any valuables or money in the dressing rooms.  PSP FITNESS AND SPORTS STAFF are not responsible for articles lost or stolen.

2. No puck/ball/tape shooting or throwing allowed in dressing rooms, hallways or elsewhere in the facility.

3. All teams and individuals must vacate dressing room within 30 minutes of leaving ice area.

4. NO ALCOHOLIC beverages allowed.

5. NO SMOKING allowed.

6. NO PETS allowed.

7. All ice rentals are abased on a 50-minute hour.

8. No one is allowed on the ice until the resurfacer is off the ice and the doors are completely closed.

9. To receive a dressing room key, a set of car keys must be provided to the arena staff. Upon completion of usage, the team is to ensure that room is CLEAN, and the key is RETURNED to the arena staff.

10. Skates shall not be worn in the bleachers.  Players benches or bleachers shall no be used as changing area, use dressing room assigned.

11. THE USE OF CSA APPROVED HELMETS and facemasks is required by all military personnel, playing, practicing, coaching or officiating hockey or broomball.  Civilian personnel are strongly encouraged to follow this rule.

12. Individuals under 12 years of age must be directly supervised at all times.

13. All directions from arena staff are to be adhered to at all times.

14. If you find wash/dressing room facilities in an unsanitary condition, please advise facility personnel immediately.
